Modern Chair Ottoman. Monday , July 30th , 2018 - 16:46:51 PM
It is claimed that the word ottoman has its origins in the word 'divan'. Derived from Eastern way of life, both words referred to a backless, padded seat. While this might have been the earlier meanings of ottoman, in a lot of countries (especially in the US), an ottoman refers to an upholstered footstool.
Functional and good looks
This 2-piece set is one of the most iconic items of contemporary furniture and still as desirable today as it was back in the 50's. It's rather like a movie star, with its own specific role, playing an important part in numerous television appearances. In 1956 the Eames chair made its debut, when it cropped up in a show called 'Home' broadcast by NBC in the US, hosted by Arlene Francis. It's also the unmistakable piece of classic designer furniture that starred in the sitcom 'Fraiser', where it appears in all but one episode. See it in films like 'She's Out Of My League' and popular series like Doctor Who and Mad Men.
