Elizabeth Arnold. Modern Chair Ottoman. September 12th , 2018.
It is claimed that the word ottoman has its origins in the word 'divan'. Derived from Eastern way of life, both words referred to a backless, padded seat. While this might have been the earlier meanings of ottoman, in a lot of countries (especially in the US), an ottoman refers to an upholstered footstool.
Correctly titled the Eames Lounge (671) and Ottoman (672), this chair was one of the leading chair designs of the 20th Century, combining modern architecture with classic design.
